Integrally Troweled Cure & Polished Concrete

This program addresses the need to properly cure and finish concrete. Discusses the current ACI recommendations and the new technology that allows dramatic time savings while Increasing quality of the finished product. Education in advanced concrete technology with the use of the power trowel alone to create a unique architectural concrete floor. Education in advanced methods to expose aggregate and ultra high gloss are also shown. This unique system also eliminates moisture loss which reduces cracking and seals the surface so effectively there may be no additional need for moisture mitigation.

The Evolution of Glulam : High Performance, Cost Conscious, Structural Design

Over the course of the presentation, participants will review the evolution of glulam beam manufacturing to gain an understanding of the versatility offered by 24F-V4 glulam manufactured in widths that match wood framing and depths compatible with other engineered wood products, as a means to expand the specification options designers make available on plans from the engineered wood product category. Further, participants will be asked to re-evaluate how they define “value engineering” based on glulam’s versatility, cost and manufacturing lead time, along with where and when they specify glulam as an engineered wood product option. This course will also expand on the understanding of custom vs. stock glulam products.
