ATS in collaboration with Vertima, offers you the possibility to develop the documentation you need to position yourself on the green building market, more specifically LEED® v4 from the US Green Building Council.

Vertima is an independent third party that audits and certifies Validated Eco-Declarations and develops Environmental Data Sheets for product manufacturers. To obtain a Validated Eco-Declaration from Vertima, the manufacturer must undergo a rigorous and transparent analysis process.

Vertima’s Validated Eco-Declaration may contain analyses of the following elements, depending on the manufacturer’s priorities:

  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
  • Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)
  • Health Product Declaration® (HPD®)
  • Chemical composition declaration
  • Environmental attributes (recycled content, FSC, etc.)
  • Raw materials traceability

Our team of experts will guide you through the process, all the while helping you stay on top of your industry. Vertima’s expertise in product validation and product certification can be described as follows:

Life cycle assesment (LCA)

Our team of professionals can help you assess the environmental impacts of your product life cycle, in conformity with ISO standards (ISO 14040:2006 and ISO 14044:2006). If needed, Vertima can also handle the third-party verification process and contact directly third-party verifiers.

Life cycle assessment is the most comprehensive way to determine the environmental footprint of a product by looking at the environmental impacts generated during its entire life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to the plant gate or to the product disposal.

Environmental product declaration (EPD)

Along with the LCA service, our professionals can prepare the environmental product declaration in accordance with ISO 14025:2006. Again, if needed, Vertima can also handle the third-party verification process and contact directly a program operator.

EPDs are verified documents that communicate potentially comparable information about the life cycle environmental impacts of products. It is one of the most reliable documents when it comes to environmental footprint communication.

Validated Eco Declaration™ (VED)

As part of Vertima’s core business, the Validated Eco Declaration™ benefits manufacturers by gathering, in one document, verified environmental claims and technical information, making the Validated Eco Declaration™ the perfect specification tool for green building professionals.

Health product declaration® (HPD®)

Health product declarations are prepared by our team of professionals in accordance with the HPD Open Standard. HPDs® are documents that report product ingredients and associated health information. The main intent behind this reporting process is to enhance building product performance through transparency and disclosure.

Declare (Living building challenge)

In collaboration with its business partner International Living Future Institute and GIGA, Vertima offers to manufacturers the Declare label. Similarly to HPDs®, Declare is a label that has been created by the International Living Future Institute (Living Building Challenge) to promote transparency and open communication in the building industry. Declare is a label and a method to disclose building product ingredients.

Corporate sustainability report (CSR)

At a higher level, Vertima can help you prepare a corporate sustainable report according to reliable guidelines, such as the GRI Guidelines. Sustainability reporting enables organizations to consider their impacts of wide range of sustainability issues, enabling them to be more transparent about the risks and opportunities they face.
