Sintered Compact Surfaces Basics: Design, Application & Sustainability - Neolith01

08:00 AM - 09:00 AM

Materials used on exterior and interior surfaces need to withstand many elements, including water, scratched, high temperatures, UV, wind, etc. Choosing a material is certainly influenced by the ability to hold up over time but also by the available size and weight, maintenance, hygiene, bending properties, recyclability, VOC, not to mention the appearance and efficient and cost-effective installation. There is one new product category that will be the focus of this course, namely Sintered Compact Surfaces that can be used for a wide variety of application interior and exterior from countertops to curtain walls applications in both residential and commercial buildings.

High-Performance Modified Wood: Beauty Built to Last

10:15 AM - 11:15 AM

Wood is a top material choice in construction due to its beauty and longevity. But high demand has put a strain on this natural resource, especially for the timber with greatest durability like tropical hardwoods. Today, new technology allows for the use of responsibly-sourced fast-growing timber in wood modification that yields products with the same or greater durability as those overexploited hardwoods. This course provides an overview of the wood-modification process that results in a product that’s non-toxic, highly durable, Class-A Fire Rated, environment friendly, and ideal for use in indoor and outdoor applications. This course also explains how this Modified Wood contributes to LEED v4 certification.

TPO Technology: Performance & Recent Developments

03:30 PM - 04:30 PM

TPO roofing membrane has now been part of the roofing industry for 20 years and has become the leading segment as far as the total volume used on an annual basis. With almost 10 billion square feet installed around the world, TPO has proven that it is an effective roofing material providing building owners with a low-cost, highly reflective, energy-efficient roof system. Participants will learn the advantages of the TPO roofing membrane versus other materials and how the use of new technology has allowed TPO to become even more resistant to a wide range of rooftop conditions. There is a reason for the astronomical growth of this roofing membrane and the presenters will shed light on the reasons why.
