Mineral Stains & Paints are highly durable, breathable coatings designed for exterior brick, concrete, stone, cement renders and claddings. Developed in Germany in the 1800s, these products have been widely used across Europe ever since. Unlike latex/acrylic paints, Mineral Stains & Paints do not trap moisture in and leave the surface fully breathable. They crystallize inside the surface and form a highly durable chemical bond – lifespans of over 100 years with no maintenance have been achieved. Introductions to coatings

You don't have to be an architect or facility manager to know that various environments put every building material and surface through some of the most rigorous, day-to-day durability challenges. But, if you are part of the team specifying these materials and surfaces, it helps to know which finishes are the most sustainable, weather resistant to the elements of the selected environment, and which will be easiest to maintain for the duration of the buildings life. The architectural industry most often relies on two types of finishes-anodize and paint. Both can offer a long-lasting finish on building materials and surfaces, but each has its own characteristics inherent in its appliion. As an architect, specifier, contractor, or other member of the building community, Linetec's presentation will help you better understand field performance of architectural Kynar 500 (PVDF) paints, baked enamels, powder coating and anodize finishes including strengths, weaknesses , weatherability and sustainability. The anodize, paint and powder coat processes, specifications and performances are explained to the audience. In addition, a summary comparison of all three finish types, referencing AAMA specifications, are discussed during the program. Whether building a new facility, renovating an existing one or simply updating a specific area, taking the care in selecting the finish for your aluminum building products and surfaces will assure the longest lifespan for your project. Sintered Compact Surfaces for Building Facades

Materials used on building facades need to withstand many things, including water, wind, sunlight, and sometimes severe weather conditions. They also need to hold up to the effects of people who may inadvertently or even intentionally cause damage. Choosing a material to use for a facade is certainly influenced by the ability to hold up over time but also by the available size and weight, not to mention the appearance, of the material. Being able to install it in a manner that is efficient and cost-effective usually rounds out the criteria for selecting a building material for building facades. There is one new product category that will be the focus of this course, namely sintered compact surfaces that can be used for curtain walls, rain screens, siding applications, and other common wall systems for both residential and commercial buildings.

4. How to create a fully waterproof and vapor tight enclosure. Understand how to incorporate trim profiles into specific ceramic tile and dimension stone tile applications. How to protect the integrity of any tile installation.
